Goodbye, Spring Break...

...and blogging every day!

Today was our last "official" hang-out day of Spring Break. The boys and Larry went to Mens' Breakfast at church this morning, while the girls in the family did the same- at Perkins! We did a bit of cleaning today and grocery shopping, as well as watching the NCAA basketball games with Opa, who brought over pizza for dinner. We also had fresh strawberry shortcake tonight, using the berries we picked yesterday at Ambrose Farms on Wadmalaw.

We will enjoy a quiet Lord's day tomorrow with family and then Monday...back to school.

So I hope you enjoyed my daily blogging this week...because you may not hear from me again for a few days!

Just hangin' out...

More history for you...

Any guesses on where we went today? And why?...

Time for Sublime...

What you see below is the most WONDERful pink and green box in Charleston...SUBLIME Key Lime Pie!

NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING is as good as a Key Lime Pie from Sublime! (Well, except maybe Sublime's Key Lime CHEESECAKE! Yikes-a-roosie!) It has THE kick, THE bite, that makes key lime key lime- tart and creamy- yummo!

I discovered Sublime when I received two small 4" pies for Christmas from one of my students. Since then, David and I have been on the hunt for Key Lime pie- every time we eat out, we save room for dessert! But I decided that nothing is good as Sublime...so I went and GOT ONE TODAY to share tonight with friends who are coming over to have dinner with us.

And yes, I already had a *sliver*...it tastes like summer is around the corner...*sigh*...

PERFECTION all tied up in my favorite colors!!!

Don't know much about history?...

So...today we took a "photo safari" in downtown for M.E.'s S.C. history project. Beautiful day!

Can you figure out which photo is...
* the oldest church building in the city?
* the oldest medical school in the south?
* the site of our country's first public museum?
* the oldest municipal college in America?
* the site of our country's first public library?
* the site of our country's first systematic weather observations using instruments?
* the state's oldest commercial street?

Have fun- we did!

Tuesday...it's hard to say "goodbye"...

We love you guys! See you again soon- we miss you already!

Monday...the waiting game...

M.E. waited ALL day Monday for some of our bestest friends to come into town for a short visit- it was SO hard! She was beside herself most of the day, constantly asking me the infamous question, "How much LONGer???" She was very patient. She...

...waited...

...and waited...

...and waited...

...and waited.

She discovered that some things are worth waiting for!

The new ride...

Poor Larry..."his" new ride turned into "our" new ride...

...or, should I say, "my" new ride??? :o}

Busy day...

Today we took the opportunity to do some *spring cleaning* before my family came over for a cookout and egg hunt. I love it when everything is dusted, vac'ed, and smelling fresh...I get to enjoy it for a grand total of about 24 hours before it *magically* disappears.

I finally framed some postcards and a watercolor that we got last summer while in Italy, and I hung them in our bedroom. I love how they turned out, especially since I framed them on the *cheap* with frames from Walmart (which, BTW, I went into last night for the first time in WEEKS...and I remembered why...). The three small frames were only .25 each!!! I thought they were $2.00/each, but SURPRISE! I love that part.

We also decided to go look at a 02 Honda Odyssey (for those who haven't heard, we finally blew a head gasket on Larry's 93 Lumina) that we saw in the paper for an AWESOME price (private owner)...and it was in great shape! Pending our mechanic's inspection, we're buying it! I'm so excited that we'll have TWO VANS! For all you moms out there- the bigger the kiddos get, the more stuff and friends you haul. I'm also excited because I think we'll be able to get us all to camp this summer in two cars instead of three! Yahoo!
