Are we havin' fun yet???....

Today we were supposed to go and see "The Spiderwick Chronicles" with the Weldons for Jacob's birthday...but, about 30 minutes before we were to go, we discovered that somewhere between Friday night and Saturday afternoon was its last showing. What to do???

I check the mail to find a pass for a free game of bowling for up to ten people- HEY, let's go bowling! So we did. And then we ate a mid-afternoon lunch at Ci-Ci's. Nothing like bowling and pizza with some of your bestest buds to make the first day of Spring Break fun fun FUN!

And of course I had to take a fews photos of us all- check out our tacky feet!

It's officially...

...Spring! And even better, Spring Break!

We are officially *off* for a whole week, and we are really looking forward to being at home and hanging out. It's been a breezy, blue-skyed day, a beautiful way to start our break and give us a taste of God's glory...I LOVE LOVE LOVE warm weather and sunshine!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACOB! Today you are 11, and it seems like yesterday you were a small little fellow. And BREAK A LEG tonight in your class musical, we are very excited to see you *shine* as you follow your dad's footsteps as the FOOTBALL ANNOUNCER! Yahoo!

We've had a lot of frustrating news lately- for us, stuff dealing with school. For friends, stuff dealing with losses of money and loved ones. Life isn't always fun, but I'm sure glad we have each other.

Just wanted to let you know I do exist- and that Spring Break is coming!!! More soon...

self portrait POTW...

This weekend I took some photos of myself in order to play around with catchlights- the afternoon light was beautiful. I took about 20 shots and this was about the best of them. I must say, I think it came out pretty well! And I got lucky- the POTW theme fit just right! So you get the 1) BW version, 2) color version (no PS, just cropped) and 3) the original. Tell me what you think- good, bad, ugly, helpful tips of any kind are welcome!

The other thing about doing this was I saw a "me" I've never seen in the mirror. I look so different on film. It's kinda weird to look at yourself *still* in time...

Today at lunch the students got fortune cookies.

One of my boys opened his and asked me to read it.

"An unexpected visitor will bring you abundant blessings."

And without a skipping a beat, sweet little "Catherine" said, "JESUS!"
